	Translation in Management and Information Technology: Towards Developing a K-Economy, is the theme of the 8^th International Conference on Translation taking place 3-5 September in Langkawi, Malaysia. E-mail can be sent to penerbit@uum.edu.my
	The 5^th European Conference on Research and Advanced Technology for Digital Libraries reviews the impact digital libraries have on science, technology and society in general. It takes place in Darmstadt, Germany, 4-8 September.
	New Orleans, Louisiana is the venue of the 24^th Annual International ACM SIGIR Conference on Research and Development in Information Retrieval , 7-12 September. SIGIR is the major international forum for the presentation of new research results and the demonstration of new systems and techniques in the broad field of information retrieval (IR).
	September 9-14 are the dates to note for the International Autumn School on the Digital Library and E-publishing, for Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics happening in Geneva, Switzerland.
	Libraries Without Walls 4 - The Delivery of Library Services to Distant Users: Distributed Resources - Distributed Learning, runs 14-18 September, Hotel Delfinia, Lesvos, Greece.
	24-28 September are the dates of The Library & Information Association of South Africa LIASA Annual Conference: African Renaissance Through Libraries , held at the Gauteng South Branch of LIASA, Johannesburg.
	The European Association of Information Services, EUSIDIC Annual Conference meets at Baden-Baden, Germany, 30 September to 3 October.

October 2001

	The IFLA Office for International Lending and the Ljubljana National and University Library are behind Interlending and Document Supply International Conference 1-5 October, Ljubljana Conference Centre, Slovenia.
	The worlds' biggest book event, the Frankfurt Book Fair runs from 10-14 October.
	Revelling in Reference 2001 is unsurprisingly the theme of the 2001 RAISS Conference taking place 11-14 October at the VUT Conference Centre, Melbourne, Australia. E-mail msmith@slv.vic.gov.au for more details.
	October 16-19 are the dates for the Association of Research Libraries ARL Annual Conference meeting in Washington DC, USA.
	Perpustakaan Sultanah Zanariah, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and the Librarians' Association of Malaysia are jointly organising Knowledge Management in the Digital World. Discussion areas include knowledge mapping, tools, resource sharing and the information profession of the future. The venue is the Puteri Pan Pacific Hotel, Johor Bahru, Malaysia, 22-24 October. 	Metadata is the focus of the International Conference on Dublin Core and Metadata Applications 2001 convening in Tokyo, Japan, 22-26 October. Details together with information on travel grants for participants from developing countries.

November 2001

	3-8 November are the dates for Information in a Networked World: Harnessing the Flow, the American Society for Information Science and Technology, ASIST, Annual Meeting , in Washington DC, USA.
	Shaping Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery in the 21^st Century is sponsored by the University of Michigan and the Association of Research Libraries and takes place at Ann Arbor, MI, USA, 8-9 November.
	The fifth in the series, Internet Librarian 2001 takes place 6-8 November at the Pasadena Conference & Exhibition Center, Pasadena, CA, USA.

December 2001

	Online Information 2001 is again at Olympia, London, 4-6 December.
	The 4^th International Conference on Asian Digital Libraries has as its theme Dynamic Landscapes for Knowledge Creation, Dissemination and Management. The conference takes place at Bangalore, India, 10-12 December.

January 2002

The Midwinter Meeting of the American Library Association ALA convenes January 18-23 in New Orleans, LA. www.ala.org will have more details.

February 2002

The International Conference on Bioinformatics 2002, North - South Networking happens in Bangkok from 6-8 February.

March 2002

	Computers in Libraries 2002 happens at Washington Hilton & Towers, Washington, DC, March 13-15, 2002.
	Internet Librarian International 2002 working with the London Book Fair, is at Olympia 2, London, 18-20 March.
	20-22 March in Glasgow, Scotland, is IT&ILit 2002: 1st International Conference on IT & Information Literacy . It is jointly hosted by Glasgow Caledonian University.
	The Art Libraries Society of North America and the Visual Resources Association are holding their First Joint Conference in St Louis, Missouri, MO, USA, 20-26 March.

April 2002

	The Second International Workshop on New Developments in Digital Libraries runs 2-3 April at Ciudad Real, Spain.
	4-7 April, Washington DC, USA are the dates to remember for the Annual Meeting of the Association for Asian Studies/Council on East Asian Libraries (AAS/CEAL).
	The 2001 Asia International Book Fair/International Library Expo (AIBF/ILE) takes place 24-26 April at the Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (SICEC), Singapore.

May 2002

	17-23 May are the dates of the Medical Library Association (MLA) Annual Meeting , Dallas, Texas, USA.
	The 5^th International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations , takes place at the Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, USA, 30 May to 1 June.

June 2002

	The SLA Special Libraries Association Annual Conference meets in Los Angeles, 8-13 June.
	June 13-19, Atlanta, Ga., USA, is the place to be for the American Library Association ALA Annual Conference .

August 2002

	The International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres Annual Conference , takes place 4-9 August, University of California, Berkeley, USA, and includes a concert by the Kronos Quartet.
	School Libraries for Knowledge Society is the title of the IASL Conference happening in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 5-9 August.
	The 5^th World Conference on Continuing Professional Education for the Library and Information Professions is an IFLA sponsored meeting taking place 14-16 August at Aberdeen, Scotland.
	The IFLA General Conference is meeting in Glasgow, Scotland, from 18-24 August.
